• Follow all hygiene protocols when handling urinary catheters.

• Monitor for signs of infection or blockage, such as foul odor, cloudy urine, fever, or discomfort.

• Keep the catheter tubing and drainage bag clean and properly positioned below bladder level.

• Report any concerns or abnormalities to the office or supervising nurse immediately.

• Educate and encourage client involvement in catheter hygiene when appropriate.
